Candidates apply for the admissions procedure in accordance with the announcement of admissions procedure criteria issued by the school headmaster in accordance with the Education Act and implementing decrees.

A transfer within the secondary school during the current school year is possible at any time based on notification of the transfer, assessment of the application and the decision of the headmaster of the school on the transfer.

You are welcome at our school at any time. As standard, we offer an experience day at our school, a so-called „Experiential Day“, where individual study applicants can experience one school day in a selected class.

General information regarding the second round of the admission procedure (according to the MEYS – Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports):

  • Announcement of the second round: Secondary schools that will be opening a second round of the admission procedure will publish this information, along with the number of vacant places and admission criteria, by May 19, 2025, at the latest. This information will be available in the DiPSy system (Digital Application System – www.dipsy.cz) and also on the websites of individual schools.
  • Submitting applications for the second round: Applications for the second round can be submitted from May 20, 2025, to May 26, 2025. In the second round, an applicant can submit up to 3 applications for fields of study without a talent examination.
  • Method of application submission: The application can be submitted electronically via the DiPSy system, as an extract from the DiPSy system, or on an application form directly to the principal of the respective secondary school.
  • Results of the Standardized Entrance Exam (JPZ): The JPZ results from the first round are usually counted in the second round of the admission procedure if the applicant is applying for a field of study leading to a Maturita exam (school leaving examination).
  • School entrance exams: Some schools may also set a school-specific part of the entrance exam in the second round. The dates for possible school entrance exams in the second round are set by the MEYS between June 9 and June 12, 2025.
  • Publication of second-round results: The results of the second round of the admission procedure will be published by school principals on June 24, 2025.

Information regarding the second round at the 1st International School of Ostrava:

For the second round of the admission procedure at our school, the results from the first round of the Standardized Entrance Exam (JPZ) will also be counted for applicants. The minimum number of points from the JPZ required to meet the admission criteria is 5 points in each subject.

Regarding the school entrance exam (ŠPZ) in English, the following applies:

  • If the applicant took the school entrance exam (ŠPZ) in English at our school in the 1st round, this result will be counted. The applicant successfully passed the exam if they achieved a score of 5 points.
  • If the applicant did not take the ŠPZ in English in the 1st round, the date for taking the ŠPZ in the second round is set for June 10, 2025. The pass mark for this exam is also 5 points.
