Autumn with Active Citizens: Supporting Children, Nature, and National Heritage
Autumn was exceptionally busy for our Active Citizens club. Our students have once again proven that they care about the world around them, throwing themselves into projects that provide help where it is needed most.
Take a look at this overview of events we successfully organised during the Autumn 2025 season.
Helping Little Ones and Families in Need
Charitable collections are a cornerstone of our activities. This year, we focused on two specific areas:
- Heart Days (Srdíčkové dny): A traditional charity collection where the proceeds go toward helping seriously ill children. Thanks to your generosity, we contributed to the purchase of medical equipment and treatment.
- Cake Day for a Mother in Need: We dedicated one of our special fundraising events to a specific local story—helping a mother fighting a serious illness. The solidarity shown by our community was truly moving.
Cake Days: Baking for a Cause
Our popular baking sales took on a more historical and respectful tone this season:
- International Veterans Day: To mark November 11th, we organized a Cake Day with proceeds supporting the Post Bellum (Memory of Nations) project. In doing so, we honored those who fought for our freedom and helped preserve their stories for future generations.
Education and the Environment
Active Citizens is about more than just fundraising; it’s about awareness and caring for our surroundings:
- Global Education Week: Our older students stepped into the role of teachers. They prepared a special program for younger pupils, explaining global issues and the importance of sustainable development in an engaging, interactive way.
- Clean Up Czechia (Autumn Wave): We didn’t forget about ecology. As part of this nationwide initiative, we headed out into the field to clear litter from our local community areas.
A Word of Thanks
„We are proud of every student who dedicated their free time and energy to a good cause. A big thank you also goes to all the donors, parents, and teachers for supporting our activities.“
