The First ISO MUN Conference at 1st ISO | 2011-05-15

On the 25th of February, 2011the first ISO MUN conference of the school year was held. The topic was nuclear disarmament and 10 countries were represented, including Israel, Switzerland, France and North Korea. The conference was prepared mainly by two students from class 12A, Filip Dudys and Adela Sobotková. There were also the most important persons in the General Assembly (the President and Vice President).

All the delegates were very well prepared and the conference was successful. The debate was very lively and full of arguments, especially between the delegates for USA and North Korea. We passed one resolution which was sponsored by the USA, but North Korea and China were not satisfied at all. We liked the conference very much but we felt that there was not enough time for debate. Adela and Filip did a great job in preparing the conference and a big thanks also goes out to all the participants for making the resolution-writing and debate worthwhile.

If you are interested in joining us at the next in-school conference, you can contact Filip Dudys by email at isomun@is-ostrava. cz or speak with the faculty sponsor, Ms. Gitana Chunyo.
