Comenius Project - Multilateral Partnership - France | 2010-03-02
Our school has been involved since September 2009 into Comenius program multilateral partnerships among schools. There are four other schools in the project, they are from France, Portugal, Lithuania and Romania. The topic of the project is “Occupations in Europe”.
Our school received for two years funds from the EU program Comenius, which finances multilateral agreements among different schools in the European Union.
The name of the project is “Occupations in Europe“. The students will research former professions existing in our country and then continue with discussion about the current situation and the future of the professions. Results will be compared with partner schools and there will be other smaller projects related to this topic. Later the project will also deal with possible studies abroad (e.g. Erasmus). Exploration of the culture and history of all the participating countries will also be included. There will be many student exchanges during these two years. We will be visiting the partner schools of the project and what is more, our school will be the host of an international meeting in the next academic year.
The first student exchange has been already realized. In the first week of February we visited our partner school in Nantes. The students had a possibility to see lessons in French school and practise their French. They were staying in the French families so they could also see the life of French people and try their famous cuisine. During our stay there was an international Comenius evening at the partner school where we presented our school and Czech culture and French visitors could taste there some Czech specialities that we brought from the Czech Republic. During our stay in France there was also a group from our partner school in Romania so the meeting was really international. But we were not only at school, there was also one day trip to the seaside and the surroundings of Nantes. We saw how the salt is mined, we visited a medieval town Guérande and at the end we could enjoy the beach of Baule, one of the sea resort of the western coast of France.
On the way back we spent two days in Paris and explored the beauties of the French capital city.
