Alumni | 2009-12-10

Hello school community,

It seems it was just yesterday when we met in the auditorium of the Youth Free Time Centre building to open up the new school year. In fact, we have gone through the first month of the year 2009/10.

We are very happy that we have been able to place the Middle School students into a decent, nicely renovated facility, which has significantly contributed to creating a much better and more professional atmosphere at that part of our school.

Nevertheless, perhaps the best evidence of a good school is the success of their alumni. I am proud to say that nearly 100% of the students in the first graduating class from ISO have been accepted to highly respected universities around the world. We are happy that five students decided to study abroad, which, for us as a school with English as the language of instruction, is one of our main goals. Detailed information regarding their placements is included below in

class teacher Phil Corkill’s column. In future issues of this newsletter we will be including notes from our graduates studying abroad. Our hope is that reading these stories will inspire our current students to consider studying overseas or perhaps to complete their studies in English at European universities.

I strongly believe all of our recent graduates will be successful at the universities of their choice. The news we have heard from admissions makes us very happy and proud; highly appreciated were the students’ presentation skills, persuasive speech, good knowledge presented in a systematic way, and their high level of English. These are the things we concentrate on and try to instill in our students.

I think that for you, both the parents and the students, this sends an encouraging message. A message to say our hard work makes sense. A message to spur on our upcoming graduates for the most important year of their school life so far.

Have a good academic year!
