WE ARE CIS MEMBERS !!!

ISO Granted CIS Membership
May 28th, 2009
Dear School Community,
On behalf of the management and staff of the 1st International school of Ostrava, it is my pleasure to announce that our school has been granted full Regular Membership in the Council of international Schools (CIS).
In doing so, we join our referee schools, the International School of Prague and the Riverside School in Prague, as well as the new International School of Brno, as the only schools in the Czech Republic with such status.
With Regular Membership in the CIS, we have become even more closely integrated with the network of international schools around the world. Additionally, this paves the way for our school to cooperate with the CIS on an in-depth and detailed accreditation process over the coming months and years, to more easily recruit teachers with international school experience, and to participate in professional development sessions, training seminars and conferences put on by the CIS and other organisations associated with the International Schools community.
Most importantly, as a school registered with the Quality and Curriculum Authority (QCA), we have access to the standardised testing materials used in the UK to assess the results of our students. We also follow the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and implementSATs testing in core subjects to provide our students with complete, detailed and measurable End of Year Reports, acknowledged by State and International Schools around the world.
Allow me to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have shown over the past several years as we have devoted our energies to creating something that our entire community can be proud of. With your help, we have created a catalyst for the academic, cultural and economic development of the Moravian-Silesian Region!
